That feeling of disappointing my parents by getting a degree then becoming a SAHM has always been something I’ve wrestled with. I know I build it up in my head because my mom was a SAHM and tells me all the time how much of a joy and treasure it is that I get to spend so much time with my boys like she did with us. I never thought about my parents wanting me to get a degree just so I would have as many opportunities as I could to choose the life I love.
