I feel all of this in my bones. My husband is an airline pilot and is gone for days and most holidays. You put into words how I often feel ❤️

Great piece ❤️ I’m a medical resident myself with two young girls. It aches to be away from them on holidays.

This is a great reminder for me. I’m a fellow medical spouse with 4 young kids whose husband is on call this Christmas. I’m keeping my fingers crossed hard for no orthopedic emergencies that morning. I’m sure we’ll roll with the punches because there’s really no other option, but it’ll be hard on all of us if he’s not there. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

It’s easy to say you’ll roll with the punches and harder when you actually have to. 🙃 I hope is an ortho-emergency free Christmas for you! 💛💛

I was raised by a nurse and went into the field myself. I have been the one missing for most of this story. It can feel lonely and very unfair, particularly considering how healthcare providers can be treated at times. Thank goodness for fellow staff/employees that were in our boat. Also, for understanding family members that leave us a plate.
