Reading this as I hold my two day old baby in my arms and figure out how I’m going to take care of her and a sick toddler. I needed this essay today. Thank you thank you thank you.
Beautiful words Molly, thank you. As a first time mom at the age of 29, I thought I needed to figure out how to do it all well, myself. Now, three kids in, at the age of 38, I laugh at my naivete, but in a kind-hearted way of "Sweetheart, you didn't know" and also, "Look how far you've come" and one more "You will continue to learn." Hugs <3
I loved this essay as much as I did the first time around! I just had my third baby, and it has been such a different experience. I’ve been practiced asking for and receiving help—it’s almost like I needed a third baby to do it right
Scary how similar the first baby was for me - friends playing, nighttime scaries, never asking for help. I’m on baby 4 and just now starting to realize the same thing. What a perfect read for today.
Ooof Molly, this one brought on the tears I didn’t know I needed to shed. Even though my postpartum years are freshly behind me, I’m so grateful for this reminder as I venture into life raising three little ones. ❤️
Such a great reminder, Molly, for both those caring for small children and those who are not. It made me reflect on my own thoughts and feelings about help. I could do better asking and receiving. Thanks for sharing!

For sure. Help can come in so many ways and it’s nice to be part of a community where accepting love is as natural as giving it. Thank you.
