Well this found me at just the right time, at 5 weeks postpartum after 4 babies. Katie, your writing always makes me laugh and/or cry. Thank you for this! And C + C ladies, I pretty much want to add all of your clothing and book picks to my shopping cart. 😬
Wow. Guys. Thank you so much for sharing Perfectionism is a Brawler. I’ve read C+C forever so seeing my name unexpectedly when I opened the email made me burst into tears. 💛
"I don’t do dressing room mirrors and fluorescent lighting because I protect my peace, so I bought seven items to take home." PREACH IT, KATIE. I, too, hate swimsuit shopping and wish there were better, cheaper options out there. I would like to throw out one more swimsuit option for those scouring the comments. All my favorite ones are from here: https://albionfit.com
Katie, I love this! I will forever celebrate and hold in my heart an employee at Athleta. I’d had my first daughter and went hunting for a swimsuit. I thought I’d treat myself to a pricier option. Coming out of the dressing room with a high-waisted bottom and top situation, I was skeptical and very confused. When I turned to the employee for her hot take, that wonderful woman just said “Well. Those high-waisted suits don’t really work like they’re supposed to. I wouldn’t buy that.” Bless her.
OMG katie, i LOVED this piece. I bought a handful of bathing suits off amazon and found a one piece i absolutely adore in style and fit. I cam truly say this year I am going out in my bathing suit in confidence!
As someone who has gone into EVERY summer with that same budget and unrealistic expectations, I too was encouraged by some loving friends to try Summersalt... I gave several styles a try, so I was so bummed when they didn’t work for my body!! I still wanted to “get in the water” this summer, so the search continued. If anyone else is looking for another option to try, check out Coral Reef swimwear (but beware the return/exchange policy!!!! You can’t return items you received as part of an exchange. So thankful for a merciful customer service rep so I didn’t get stuck with $400 of bathing suits 😅). I found a swimsuit that’s comfortable and what I was looking for in terms of coverage, style, and convenience (because “mom bod” for me also means bathroom trips are more frequent than pre-baby... bring on the supportive 2-pieces with coverage!)
I loved this so much and needed to add my own recommendation. I found “the” bathing suit for me post-baby and I was shocked, truly shocked, at how sexy and confident I felt in it haha. Londre Swimwear, it’s pricey but I would take back all my cheap ones and just buy this one if I could take back my past, well-meaning, purchases.

Oh Bec, thank you for being here and it's an honor to share your beautiful work.
Swimsuit shopping is like jean shopping. The worst! Thank you for sharing Part-Time Poets!
Oof. Can we get a jeans shopping how-to in the Fall Collection? Anyone?
Good idea!

Looking forward to reading these recommendations!
Bless her! Those high wasted bottoms certainly aren't for every woman.
I just appreciated the honesty!
Ha- This made me laugh, Mary ;) Bless her.

Good for you! It's a great feeling when you find a suit that helps make you feel confident poolside.
I took this swimsuit suggestion to heart when you shared it & now I have a maternity one that I love from there too
Hooray!
Katie, I hear you on the quest to feel comfortable- challenging! My thing is I need some grooming hacks. How can I be this old and have zero ideas??
Oh yes, that's a whole other situation we have to think about, right?😳

Love this, Pam! So happy your search ended with a great suit.

That's such a good feeling when you find THE bathing suit. Thanks for sharing the rec.
Love this as always, Katie!
